Business Assistant
A business assistant is the first person you
encounter when entering or phoning a dental
office. It is extremely important this
person has a friendly manner and enjoys
interaction with people. A business
assistant typically checks patients in and
out, answers patient’s questions, pulls and
files charts, answers the phone, schedules
appointments and collects payments. Other
duties may involve processing insurance
forms, sending statements, sending
appointment reminders, maintaining efficient
treatment schedules, and typing
correspondence. Computer knowledge is very
important. The ability to multitask is a
must since you could have a patient on the
phone and one checking out at the same time.
